Coppell Real Estate
One of the numerous bedroom communities of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, Coppell showcases the best of Texas living with the convenience of a central location and proximity to many amenities. The city of Coppell grew out of the farming town of Grapevine Springs; settlement of the area began around 1840 when the area was known as "Gibbs," after Texas Senator Barnett Gibbs. Eventually the name was changed again to Coppell after George Coppell, known for bringing the railroad to the emerging town.
The newly formed community revolved around the railroad which provided transportation and a lifeline to many of the area's residents, who at the time were primarily involved with farming. The city has grown exponentially since its early days and is now home to more than 38,000 residents.
