Neighborhood Housing Services Now Part of US Green Building Council Program

Neighborhood Housing Services (NHS) of San Antonio has recently been selected to participate in a national green building pilot program called the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or LEEDS for Homes, program.

Green Design Solutions Neighborhood Housing Service of San Antonio NHS has begun working with the US Green Building Council Program to help establish national standards for green building. NHS is therefore incorporating design solutions in an effort to create more energy efficient homes that have a lower, environmental impact.

NHS is now currently building several homes at Green Building II level and is building the first LEEDS for Homes certified home project at Mira Vista.

This past year has been good to many communities throughout San Antonio. As of July 2008, the neighborhoods of Stone Oak, the Dominion, Colonies North, Olympia and Olmos Park all posted the highest appreciation among San Antonio neighborhoods as compared to the same time one year ago.
