If you are not a Dallas Realtor and are trying to buy a property on your own, you may attempt to use an MLS as a guide as to the asking price of properties in your area that are similar to yours, or if you are a seller, you might want to check out the competition by searching a multiple listing service on your own to see what homes are available in your price range and neighborhood of choice.

What should be understood, however, is that if you are not a real estate professional, your access to information provided by a publicly available MLS will be limited.
The reason for this is that MLS access to much of the information contained in an MLS is restricted to licensed brokers, Realtors, and real estate agents.
