Austin’s Luxury Housing Market Continues to Expand

With the real estate market in and around Austin remaining strong, it only makes sense that the luxury real estate market is responding. Let’s take a look at some interesting statistics regarding Austin’s luxury home market (i.e. homes which sell for more than $1 million):

· As of July 2008, there were more than 608 homes on the market in the Austin area which were priced over $1 million.

· Seventy-eight of those homes were priced over $3 million.

· Six of those homes were priced at over $10 million.

· Between January 1, 2008 and July 1, 2208, 113 luxury homes were sold in the Austin area (Source: American Chronicle, July 2, 2008).

Just some of the areas in which these luxury homes are located include Lake Travis, Mirador, Barton Creek and West Hills Lake.

So what can you expect when purchasing a luxury home in Austin?
