City Place Development Underway in Forth Worth

Friday, August 8th, 2008

The former Tandy Center is in the midst of being transformed into a $200 million, multi-use development project in the vibrant downtown Forth Worth area. Developer David Porter has taken the twin tower office complex and completely redesigned it into three, cohesive parts.

The South Tower, named One City Place, will consist of condominiums, and the ground floor, named City Place, will include retail establishments and parking. The North Tower, named Two City Place, will consist of office space.

The City Place development will be approximately 1.2 million square feet in size, with 1,200 parking spaces and 78,000 square feet of stores and restaurants.

One City Place

The Residences at One City Place is an urban oasis which features luxury, high-rise living at its finest. More than 350 condominiums will make this project the largest high-rise, residential development in Forth Worth to date.

One City Place will offer its residents resort-style amenities, luxury interiors and four-diamond hotel services. Some of the amenities of One City Place include rooftop gardens, a fitness center, an indoor pool and parking for more than 700 cars.

Smaller units will range in size from 750 to 800 square feet and cost approximately $110,000 to $130,000, while the larger units will be almost 4,000 square feet in size and could cost over $1 million. In addition, 16 villa condos, complete with courtyards and trellised walkways, will be available. A skywalk will offer access to the Renaissance Worthington Hotel.

Two City Place

This 300,000 square foot tower will offer the finest amenities and facilities. Some of the highlights of this tower will include large blocks of contiguous downtown space, a great location, one-site document storage, floor-to-ceiling windows, outstanding views and a lovely skyline presence and 24-hour security with controlled access to tenant floors.

Two City Place will also boast ample parking both under the building and connected to the building.

Business Expansions and Relocations Continue to Explode in Fort Worth

Monday, August 4th, 2008

According to local officials, business expansions and relocations in Forth Worth increased a whopping 68 percent in 2006.

In fact, Fort Worth is now the leading city in the Metroplex in new business projects. And, as more companies continue to expand and diversify their headquarters, this number is only expected to increase.

Why Forth Worth?

Perhaps the better question might be, Why not Fort Worth? The healthy business climate in Forth Worth is helped along by tax abatements and other incentives that encourage economic development.

Dallas, in addition to having no state income tax, boasts a strong, pro-business environment with its large labor force and consumer market. Combine with that the low costs for construction and labor, and you have a recipe for success.
