Las Colinas Developments Underway
By Grace on Jul 1, 2008 in Dallas County
Las Colinas continues to be a driving force for Irving’s local economy, and the first phase of the Las Colinas project is no exception.
All eyes are on Las Colinas, as a convention center and entertainment district project is well underway and already causing a buzz among city and civic leaders. The development of the convention center and entertainment district, also known as Phase One of the Las Colinas Development project, is just one of many new developments in the Las Colinas Area.
In fact, more than a billion dollars worth of development is being envisioned for this master planned community.
Spurring Local Revenue
Set to open in late 2009, the convention center and entertainment district will serve as a mixed-use entertainment complex, with a multi-purpose center featuring 50,000 square feet of wide, open exhibit space and an additional 40,000 square feet worth of meeting space.
This entertainment complex is being designed to serve high-end exhibitors, conventions, meetings and events.
Looking Forward to Additional Developments
The blueprints are already underway for Phase Two of the Las Colinas Development project, as well. This phase of the development project will include a 300,000 square foot entertainment venue, a 140-room Watermark Hotel and restaurants, retail establishments and a movie theater spread out over 215,000 square feet .
Las Colinas – An Exceptional, Master Planned Community
Conveniently located near the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, and nestled in between the booming metropolitan areas of Dallas and Fort Worth, Irving includes more than 75 hotels which will easily accommodate the increased tourism that the Las Colinas Development Project will bring.
The master planned community of Las Colinas, since its inception 34 years ago, is a world renowned community known for its quality and excellence. This area has also become home to more than 2,000 corporations and four, Fortune 500 companies.
With the development of the Las Colinas project and the redevelopment of the Texas Stadium, this area will see additional development reaching $2 billion.
