By Grace on Jun 2, 2008 in Commercial Real Estate, Market News
Irving Boulevard, a five mile long corridor in Irving which runs between State Highway 183 and Loop 12, is the sight of an enhancement study called Designs on the Boulevard. This study is designed to identify ways in which this area can be developed and become a popular destination for both residents and visitors alike.
Untapped Potential
Irving Boulevard has a great potential to further advance the city of Irving and provide property owners, residents and community leaders with exciting opportunities. Those who choose to make an investment in this highly visible corridor are sure to reap the benefits of a healthy, local economy.
Study Details
Irving Boulevard, through the Designs on the Boulevard project, will be shaped and developed by the business owners and residents who offer their input. The study will focus on an assessment of the area’s surroundings, including landscaping, lighting, gateway entrances and signage, as well as traffic patterns.
Irving Boulevard, once completed, will serve as a frequently traveled, highly visible front door to Irving. This project will become a huge undertaking for the city over the next 20 years and city leaders want and need the community’s input to make this grand vision a reality.
Corridor Visions
City leaders and business owners want to see Irving Boulevard become a regional destination for activities, retail establishments and cultural programs, just to name a few. Once completed, Irving Boulevard will be transformed into an inviting destination for residents and visitors, with retail and commercial developments taking center stage.
This corridor, once completed, will better reflect the city of Irving and all of the economic opportunities that exist in the thriving metropolitan area of Irving.
Community Discussion for Designs on the Boulevard
Residents and business owners are encouraged to attend a town hall meeting on June 12 at City Hall. A reception at 5:30, followed by a presentation at 6:00, will provide attendees with more information regarding the Designs on the Boulevard project. Attendees will also have the opportunity to share their thoughts and concerns regarding the project.

tearing down all the old strip malls will be good (especially the closer you get to loop 12!). the city should stop allowing dollar stores to open shop. the planting of live oaks and pines would be nice along the blvd. there needs to be something that attracts people to the area that cant be found just anywhere.

Your right, but I think its still a hard sell. Seems like both sides of Irving Blvd from Loop 12 all the way to Beltline need to be redone.
