East Dallas Real Estate
By admin on Jan 16, 2008 in Dallas County
The city of Dallas is constantly brimming with new and exciting residential real estate opportunities. Recently, an investment partnership bought twelve acres in East Dallas. The property is located between Ross Avenue and Bryan Street.
The development of the twelve acres includes the rehabbing of the historic building that is known as Mrs. Baird’s, into high-quality residential units. Leo Whelan, a partner of Burlew Street Partners commented, “Our goal is to redo the building and use it – our architects were blown away by it.”
The plans for a large portion of the project include two rows of new townhomes, common areas and an outdoor swimming pool. The investors started to purchase land in East Dallas eighteen months ago. Everyone, including the residents of East Dallas, is very excited about this project.
Leo Whelan said, “We kept it very quiet until we were able to accumulate a lot of property,” he continued by adding, “Our goal is to sell some of it and develop some of it ourselves.”
It seems that the east side of Dallas is experiencing a boom in redevelopment. There are currently dozens of apartment and townhome projects that are in the advanced stages of development.
Dallas Texas real estate is a wise and affordable investment. Newt Walker, a real estate broker said, “For good land over there, you are looking at as much as $30 t6o $35 per square foot.”
These new Dallas townhomes will add to the charm of the city’s east side. Residents can take advantage of new restaurants and retail shops that are also being developed in the area
