Recent upward pressures on interest rates by the Feds to curb inflation fears have created a strong buyer’s market. Since builders in the Dallas area currently have high unsold and finished inventory, this is a good time for buyers to purchase a new home. Builders are reported to have cut back 12% on new construction in the last quarter of 2006 thus far since September. However, they are planning to build 12,000 new single family homes before year-end.
